The day started off just like any other; the sun high in the sky, birds chirping, water running, wind blowing, there wasn't even a cloud in the sky. There was a beautiful lake at the end of a waterfall down an old path in the woods. Not many knew about this path except the family that owned it. One day the daughter of the owner of the property was taking walk to have a picnic. The daughter's name was Jenni, she was pregnant and expecting any day now. She knew this path like the back of her hand, her dad and mother used to take her there all the time as a kid to play in the 'magical' waters. When she got to the end of the path the lake looked as beautiful as ever, she started setting up her homemade picnic. When she was finished setting up, she got out a book to start reading. As she was reading a bluebird came and landed next to her. Jenni didn't think anything about it until that same bird kept getting closer and closer. She thought he might want some of her food, so she threw him a piece of bread, that didn't seem to entice the bird. Eventually the bird left. As Jenni was ending her book and growing tired the bird came back, but instead of landing a few feet away, he landed right on her stomach. The bird just sort of looked at her, almost like it was trying to tell her something. Everything else went quiet, the world seemed to stop. She was stunned that this bird was not moving an inch, making straight eye contact with her. This seemed to last hours, when in actuality it was probably 5 minutes. The bird seemed done after that and flew away, once again. She was in shock, "what just happened?", she thought. She decided it was just a weird coincidence and acted like it didn't happen as she started to pack up. She made her way home with no other weird animal encounters. After she got home, she called her dad and told him the crazy story, he was also stunned at what had happened. Jenni went on with her life after the bird incident. But a week later she went into labor.
On April 22nd at 4:56pm her baby girl was born. Jenni couldn't be happier to finally have her baby in her arms, she felt like she couldn't take her eyes off her. But something caught her attention, a bird knocking its beak on the window. It was that same bluebird from the lake. It was here now, outside the window of the hospital she just gave birth to her daughter in, 30 miles from the lake. She kept this to herself though, thought it was just her kind going crazy after giving birth. But she decided to take it as a sign and name her baby girl Blue. One year later on Blue's first birthday party, Jenni was walking Blue into her parents' house when the same bluebird landed in front of the door. This was now the third time the same bluebird has stopped and starred at her. Blue yelled something incoherent, and the bird flew to her, Blue stuck out her hand and the bird landed on it. Jenni flinched and the bird flew away, and Blue started to cry. More and more of these incidents kept happening, and not just with the bird, all other animals too. They would all stop and stare and if Blue did anything to call them over, they came. Jenni did her research and found out Blue was born on Earth Day, many legends state that those born on Earth Day have special connections to the Earth and the creatures on it. As Blue grew older, she became more Intune with all aspects of Earth, from water to plants. Blue was a baby Mother Nature.
